Week 10 Newsletter, Term 2 2025
Principal's Messages
As we near the end of term, we’ve certainly braved the rain, wind, and cold—but now it’s time for a well-earned rest! Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support this term. It’s been wonderful to witness the growth in our students—academically, socially, and emotionally. We hope the holidays provide your family with time to relax, recharge, and maybe even enjoy a pyjama morning or two!
Baby News
It’s been an exciting time at Corpus Christi!
Mrs Tantos (Creative Arts) has shared the news that she and her husband are expecting their first baby in September.
We also congratulate Mr Surridge (PE) and his wife Ashleigh on the safe arrival of their second child, a baby boy named Jonty—a little brother for Maisie.
Congratulations to both families.
Our Term 3 Calendar will be shared via Compass today.
The calendar is accurate at the time of publishing. Additional details about events will be provided through Compass and the school newsletter as they approach. Any changes will also be communicated via Compass.

St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal Success!
Our Year 4 Mini Vinnies team led our annual Winter Appeal last week. This group of dedicated students advocated within our school by putting Vinnies Values into action and encouraging others to do so as well. They meet regularly to learn about and raise awareness of Homelessness. They worked together to prepare presentations and speeches to educate other classes about this important social justice issue.
At the core of 'Vinnies' values is to serve the poor, with love, respect and justice. To make the world a better place for everyone.
The whole school was on board with this mission, to put 'COMPASSION INTO ACTION" with the generous donations from every student on Pyjama Day. All money donations go directly to people experiencing homelessness and hardship this winter.
A big thank you to all students and families for bringing a little hope and help to those who need it most this winter.

NAIDOC Week - San Clemente Excursion
By Ruby and Genesis - Year 6
Last Wednesday, 9 students from Corpus Christi went to the NAIDOC week celebration at San Clemente with Mrs O'Connor, where we learnt about NAIDOC week and our Ancestors.
When we arrived, we met children from other primary schools. Together we got the chance to learn some cultural Aboriginal dances. Some of them were the Eagle, Emu, Kangaroo, Cockatoo and Goanna. We were also helped by students from San Clemente.
It was really fun because we got to connect with our culture. After the dances we painted ochre on our faces, the girls got dots across their face in a wavy line and the boys got stripes along their cheeks.
It was a fun experience and a great chance to connect with other people and learn about the origin of our culture, and we can’t wait until next year.

Family and Community Engagement (FACE)
Today we sent out a short survey via Compass to gather input from parents and families about how we can best engage you in school events, activities, and community life.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape future opportunities and ensure that our events reflect the interests and needs of our school community.
We look forward to using your responses to guide planning and create meaningful ways for families to connect, contribute, and feel part of school life. Thank you for your ongoing support.
The FACE Forum is designed to strengthen engagement between families, the school, parish, and wider community, with a shared goal of supporting students’ education and their growth in faith. It aims to:
Promote Catholic identity and education
Build a welcoming, inclusive school community
Foster collaboration between families, staff, clergy, and parishioners
Provide an educative and consultative space for families to engage with the school on spiritual, social, and academic matters
Support family involvement in school life through events, discussions, and fundraising initiatives
Each year, the school will consult with families and the Parish Priest to shape FACE activities and priorities. This may include input on meeting formats, topics of interest, community events, and school improvement matters.
