This year, we proudly celebrate 90 years since the construction of the original Corpus Christi school and building as it is known today.

Catholic education in Waratah has a rich history, thanks to the pioneering work of the Dominican Sisters, who arrived in the area over 130 years ago. In 1888, they opened the Deaf and Dumb Institute, followed in 1907 by the staffing of the Rosary Convent School. From 1918 to 1933, the school became known as St Joseph’s. in 1935 Corpus Christi was officially opened.

The enduring Dominican values of prayer, learning, service, and community still guide us today. We give thanks for the Dominican Sisters, parishioners, clergy, and families whose commitment shaped our school's strong foundation.

Here’s to 90 years of Corpus Christi and the generations of students who have been part of our story!
