Week 9 Update, Term 2 2025
Principal's Messages
As we near the end of a busy term, we wanted to share a quick update with you. Today we’ve enjoyed a wonderful St Vincent de Paul Fundraising Day! Students (and teachers) loved wearing their pyjamas!
Our Mini Vinnies team has been doing a fantastic job linking our fundraising efforts to supporting people in our local community. They’ve been learning about the challenges faced by the homeless and how our awareness and generosity can make a difference—just as Jesus taught us. Thanks to Mrs Castles, Ruby and Connor our Service Leaders and the Mini-Vinnies team for all of your efforts.
School Events Term 3
We’ll be publishing a Term 3 calendar in the coming weeks, but here are a few key dates to note in the meantime:
100 Days of Kindergarten – Wednesday 30 July. Further information will be shared via Compass in Week 10 of Term 3.
Book Week Parade, Grandparents and Friends Day, and Book Fair – Thursday 21 August.
Father’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy – Friday 5 September, from 7:45am.
School Musical – Wednesday 24 September.
More details about our Book Week theme and musical costume requirements will be provided soon. Stay tuned!
Semester 1 Reports - Friday 27 June
Semester 1 student reports will be published on Friday 27 June. Teachers have thoughtfully reflected on each student’s progress over the past two terms, with a focus on the learning goals set during our Parent-Teacher-Student Goal Setting Meetings.
Our Term 3 Goal Setting Meetings will take place in the week beginning Monday 11 August, with bookings opening on Tuesday 22 July.
If you would like to discuss your child’s report before these meetings, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a suitable time.
School Fee Accounts
Just a friendly reminder that families who have chosen to pay fees annually are due to finalise their payment by 30 June.
For families who have opted to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly, please check that your payments are up to date. The office has sent out reminders for accounts that are in arrears. If you need to discuss your account or make adjustments, please contact the office.
All school fee accounts need to be finalised by 30 November, with a zero balance. To help you plan, instalments to complete your payments are listed at the bottom of your latest statement. Thank you for your continued support.
Save the Date - Corpus Christi Musical
Preparations have begun! All Corpus Christi students (k-6) will be part of the performance in our biennial school musical. Please mark in your calendars Wednesday September 24th.
All students will be required for a matinee (during normal school time) and an evening performance on this day. The musical will be performed in the school hall.
It will be a fantastic experience for all our students!

Family and Community Engagement (FACE)
We have now transitioned to a FACE (Family and Community Engagement) Forum model at our school, replacing our previous parent engagement structure. A survey has been sent to all families to gather feedback, gauge interest, and invite ideas to help shape the direction and focus of the FACE Forum moving forward.
The FACE Forum is designed to strengthen engagement between families, the school, parish, and wider community, with a shared goal of supporting students’ education and their growth in faith. It aims to:
Promote Catholic identity and education
Build a welcoming, inclusive school community
Foster collaboration between families, staff, clergy, and parishioners
Provide an educative and consultative space for families to engage with the school on spiritual, social, and academic matters
Support family involvement in school life through events, discussions, and fundraising initiatives
Each year, the school will consult with families and the Parish Priest to shape FACE activities and priorities. This may include input on meeting formats, topics of interest, community events, and school improvement matters.
We are ready to to circulate a survey about the types of events parents and carers would like to be part of and how we can best share information about our strategic goals. The survey will be circulated by Compass. We appreciate your feedback and will share results with the community.
Uniform Shop
Uniform Shop is open every Friday from 8:30am-9am.
Online orders via Qkr! close at 8:00am each Friday and will be sent home with your child.
To keep costs low and provide this service to Corpus Christi families, all items are sold close to cost price. If you are available to volunteer on a casual or regular basis, please reach out to admin@waratah.catholic.edu.au.
