Safeguarding - School Holidays and Social Media
Safeguarding - Online safety
Over the Christmas holidays social media becomes a great way to keep in touch and also a recreational pastime. Sometimes during the holidays children spend more time with access to the internet as families seek ways to entertain kids at home. Over the break, please remind students who are using the internet about safe online behaviour and safe social media behaviour. The holidays may be a good opportunity to take a look at some resources from the eSafety Commissioner aimed at students of all ages as well as parents and carers.
At school we close down class TEAMS groups to avoid any issues via that platform.
General rule for staying safe online:
"Never post or trade personal pictures. Never reveal personal information, such as address, phone number, or school name or location. Use only a screen name and don't share passwords (other than with parents). Never agree to get together in person with anyone met online without parent approval and/or supervision."
