We will be hosting Sunday Parish Mass on Sunday 22 May at 5:30pm. Kindergarten and Year 6 will be involved in the Mass. We are looking forward to sharing supper with the community following Mass.
Uniform
We are moving into cooler weather, and for the first few weeks of the term there may be a mix of some warmer or cooler days.
Wednesday - Sport Uniform
For Weeks 1-4 (25 April-20 May) we will still operate on summer uniform with school jumper with the flexible option to move to winter uniform on cooler days.
Please note in choosing to wear summer or winter uniform, we ask there is no mixing of uniforms. Grey pants should be worn with a long sleeve shirt and tie. Summer tunics should not have stockings or long pants underneath (in this case winter uniform should be worn).
Girls Winter Pants
We tried to introduce Girls Grey Winter Pants to the uniform shop last year. We will have a price and orders available in the next week. The pants will be made available through the uniform shop. We are in the process of phasing out the girls green winter pants (still acceptable if you still have them from last year).
Winter Uniform – Official Change over Monday 23 May
From Monday May 24 we will ask that all students wear their full Winter uniform to school.
In preparation for the change over a few reminders:
- School shoes: Black and polish-able (leather or leather like).
- School jacket with emblem: The first/visible layer of warmth. Please do not send students in generic jumpers/jackets. These can be used as mid layers with the school jacket as an outer layer when the weather turns particularly cold.
- School Hat: Our school hat is to be used as the only head wear during winter. Scarves and gloves are permissible if necessary and should always be in the school green or black.
- Long pants: Our school uniform policy clearly states that there are to be no cargo pants (pockets on the outside) worn as part of our winter uniform.
In the past weeks we have noticed a few issues with uniform that do not meet school expectations. I realise this does not apply to all students. However, we advocate that school uniform is worn with pride at all times. Students have been reminded of uniform expectations and we look forward to acknowledging appropriate uniform choices in Term 2.
- Nail Polish – no nail varnish to be worn at school
- Earrings – Studs or sleepers only (no dangling earrings)
- Hair Accessories – Must be in the school colours of green, white or black.
- Socks – White fold over socks with academic uniform. No sport socks with academic uniform – no logos visible on socks with either uniform.
- Shoes - No canvas shoes or white/coloured markings are to be worn.
Parent Interviews and Academic Reports - Semester 1.
This year we will trial Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews. Interviews will take place earlier in the Term prior to the Academic Report being Published.
Week 2 – (Mon 2 May) PARENT REFLECTING ON LEARNING -
We invite parents to reflect on their child’s learning and share their insights via the COMPASS platform (you will see an insights tab on your child's profile) . There will be 3 clear questions.
- What are some of the strengths you witnessed in your child's learning this semester?
- What are some of the challenges you witnessed in your child’s learning this semester?
- What would like your child to focus on in their learning at this time?
Weeks 3 and 4 (From Mon 9 May) PARENT/TEACHER/STUDENT CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LEARNING
*Bookings will be available through Compass later in Week 1.
Teachers will have times available before and after school between Monday 9 May and Friday 20 May.
The goal of these interviews is that the students are active participants in the feedback and goal setting process.
As this is the first time we have trialled this process with students present there may be a few nerves. We look forward to supporting students and working with them before the interview to ensure a positive process that gives students agency in their learning. There may be concerns that parents wish to discuss without their child present, this can be managed within the interview time, or you are welcome to contact your child’s teacher.
This information will form some of the discussion for the Parent/Teacher/Student Interview.
We will repeat this process at the end of Term 3.
Weeks 9 – REPORTS PUBLISHED
Volunteering
We invite parents, carers and grandparents to register as a volunteer in the Diocese. Many people have a current WWCC. However, the updated registration process we introduced in May last year requires a few extra steps. The Diocesan office has sought to streamline the process with an online application. We have shared this link throughout Term 1.
Please consider registering as a volunteer – we are looking forward to many more school events throughout the year that will require community support. Part of the process includes a National Police Check (which is required even if you have completed a Police check with another agency). The Police Check can take some time – for anyone wishing to volunteer at our Athletics Carnival that is not currently cleared an application would need to be lodged in the next week or two.
Upcoming Volunteering Events
- School Athletics Carnival
- School Canteen
- Class Excursions
- Reading Support
To register as a volunteer in the Diocese please follow the link below

Volunteers are required to meet current vaccination requirements for educational settings.
