Newsletter Week 10 Term 4 2024
Hi Everyone,
The end of the year comes around too quickly and too slowly all at once.
It has been wonderful to see the students excitement today - we are looking forwad to farwelling Mrs Stamp, Mrs Shafren and our Year 6 Graduation Class.
As we reflect on our year, I always come back to our core theme, our name Corpus Christi - we are many parts but one body in Christ. This in it's simplicity brings us together as a school community and honours our individual gifts, talents and joys that we share.
This Christmas season, may we all take a moment to reflect on the love and joy that surrounds us. Together, we celebrate the unique gifts each of us brings, strengthening our community.
Wishing you a joyful and peaceful Christmas filled with love, laughter, and fun moments with family and friends.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for being a part of our school family.

Last Friday we celebrated the incredible careers of three amazing teachers Jeanette Chapman, Margie Shafren and Jenny Stamp.
Jeanette Chapam
We farewell the incredible Mrs. Jeanette Chapman—our Creative Arts teacher whose energy, creativity, and dedication have left an forever mark on our school.
Jeanette, you’ve done so much more than teach music; you’ve created opportunities, built confidence, and inspired countless children through the musicals you’ve written, the lessons you’ve led, and the moments you’ve gifted each student to shine. Your infectious enthusiasm, from guiding Kindergartners to mastering percussion to energizing Year 6 with challenging new concepts, has shaped not just a music program but a culture of creativity, fun, and opportunity. Even while juggling multiple schools, you gave us your best—bringing laughter, joy, and the kind of magic that lingers in every note and performance.
Your decision to step back for health reasons was no doubt difficult, but it reflects the same care and wisdom you’ve shared with us all. Jeanette, your legacy lives on in the confidence of our students, the gratitude of parents, and the memories we cherish.
Because we’ve known you, we have truly been changed—for good. Thank you for everything, and we wish you health, happiness, and harmony in this next chapter.
Mrs Margie Shafren
We bid farewell Margie, a teacher whose impact will be felt for years to come. With 36 years of teaching—20 of them at Corpus Christi—Margie has been the epitome of sunshine energy, lighting up every room with positivity, creativity, and an unwavering belief in students.
Known for turning learning into an adventure, high expectations were set from Kindergarten onward, empowering children to meet challenges with confidence and joy. Families treasure the special experiences created during their children’s first year of school, and her dedication, expertise, and genuine care have made her a beloved educator and colleague.
Margie has been a rock for the staff, a compassionate leader, and a source of encouragement for all. As retirement begins, there will be adventures in travel with Paul and cherished time spent with grandchildren. Margie’s passion, kindness, and incredible legacy leave a lasting mark, and the wish for happiness, health, and endless adventures in this next chapter is well-deserved.
Mrs Jenny Stamp
After a long and dedicated career, we farewell Mrs Jenny Stamp. Jenny is truly a cornerstone of our Corpus Christi community, and her absence is a true loss to our community. Jenny has had a remarkable career over 40 years with 38 years being here at Corpus Christi
With her remarkable years of service, she may very well hold the record for service to our school. As a former student of Corpus Christi, I had my own childhood memories of Mrs Stamp, the teacher, and Jenny was gracious and welcoming and quickly became Mrs Stamp, my colleague and friend.
Jenny’s dedication to upholding strong standards of behaviour and her nurturing approach have created an environment where students can set learning goals and achieve the best of their ability.
Beyond academics, Jenny has shared her passion for students to try new things like chess and coordinating opportunities for students to explore new interests. Her commitment to encouraging children to try something new has made a lasting impact on our school culture.
She will be greatly missed at Corpus Christi. We hope to see Jenny back as a casual teacher and wish her well in her retirement.
At our graduation ceremony we announced the winners of our perpetual awards to the Year 6 students. Congratulations to this year’s winners. These awards are long standing traditions in our school and are voted upon by the staff.
Congratulations to this year's winners
